Upcoming Events

A special guest John Hartman guitar and vocals will be joining the Suspenders on June 9th at Hoozles on the Lakes. Tom , John and I played together in 1969 in the band Stonehenge which became Jefferson Brass Band when we added horns.From there John formed a band called Powerhouse with Terry Knoll our other guitar player. John and Terry are both native to the area and graduates of Assumption High School. John eventually left the area and went to college at Berkeley School of Music in Boston. Terry hit the road and joined a band from Milwaukee with John Strassburg our keyboard player and Randy Charles our drummer. Kind of amazing when you connect all the dots in this bands history.

John currently is currently on tour with his band 'Back Counrty Roads" but is finding the time to join us on June 9th a gap in his music schedule. Randy Charles resides in Hartford and will hit the road to be with us on the 9th. Rick Clark who gave me my first music lesson will be on Bass guitar. Rick left the Rapids music scene around 1969 and went on the road with the Tongue Band. Since then he has completed tours with James Solberg an award winning blues guitatist. As a reflection back to the original band Jefferson Brass Band we will have a horn section on June 9th. Kevin Finbraaten on trumpet, John Johnson on trumpet and myself on Tenor Sax. A previous Suspender alumni Mike Clark who has played shows with us on bass will be providing the sound system and technical expertise at the mixing console. We are all hoping to see many familiar faces as we pay tribute to Thomas DeWitt and his 55 years of bands and gigs. ~ Rod Keyzer aka Rod the Saxman
